At Wollongong Pegasus Early Education Centre, we are passionate about providing a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can grow, explore, and thrive. Our dedicated educators are highly experienced and committed to fostering curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning in every child. We believe that early childhood education lays the foundation for lifelong success, and our programs are designed to support each child's individual journey.
Guided by a holistic philosophy, we focus on the development of essential social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills through play-based learning and hands-on experiences. Our curriculum encourages children to build confidence, independence, and problem-solving abilities, ensuring they are well-prepared for their next educational steps. Through our School Readiness Program, we equip children with the literacy, numeracy, and social skills they need for a smooth transition to primary school.
At Wollongong Pegasus, we pride ourselves on creating a welcoming, family-focused atmosphere where children feel safe, supported, and inspired. By fostering strong relationships with families and the local community, we ensure that every child receives the best possible start in life.
Our Early Education Centre opens at 7:30am to 6:00pm. The centre is open for 52 weeks of the year and closes for public holidays. We have a staff of trained educators who deliver a daily program based off the Early Years Learning Framework and the children’s everchanging interests.
At Wollongong Pegasus, we embrace hands-on, nature-based learning with exciting experiences like water play, a mud kitchen, and caring for our friendly guinea pigs. Our passionate educators encourage curiosity, creativity, and exploration, helping children develop essential life skills through play. With a focus on sensory learning and outdoor discovery, we create a fun, engaging environment where children thrive.

Supervisor Profile
shannon love
Hello, My name is Shannon Love! I have worked in the Early Years Education sector for almost 15 years. I began my traineeship with Boombalee Kidz in 2011 and continued my studies through my certificate 3 in children services, Diploma and then Bachelor of Early
Years education, at Charles Sturt University. I moved my way up as the room leader and second in charge within 2 years of working for the company, before taking over the role as Nominated Supervisor in 2020. Working with the same company during this time has really helped guide my confidence and love for early years education! I am so excited to now be a part of the pegasus family and further my skills and knowledge alongside an incredible team of educators and owners.
My personal philosophy is to continue to encourage learning in a fun and safe environment for all children. I love being creative and implementing this into our service, through experiences and set ups for the children. I have a strong passion for programming and planning, and strongly believe the first 5 years of a child's life are the most important. As educators we are able to scaffold and mold each child's individual needs for learning and development, through our everyday practices.
I work alongside an incredible team of educators who I have mentored for several years now, creating the beautiful community we have here at Wollongong Pegasus.
I grew up on the south coast with an amazing family who spent most weekends at the beach or playing sports, as we still do now. This embedded the importance of community and family within my own values, which can now be seen throughout our centre.
I look forward to continuing to create a safe and secure environment for our children, families and educators!
